Music in the Castle

Students from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama will present an evening of Opera highlights and a selection of Gilbert & Sullivan arias. Most of these young singers are currently studying for their Masters degrees and have won major prizes and scholarship awards.

Already with a vast amount of experience in a wide variety of operatic roles, their programme is sure to delight and enthral.

Their programme will include solo operatic arias together with duets & trios, including the famous Soave sia il vento from Cosi fan Tutti. The second half of the evening will centre on the popular and often humorous compositions of Gilbert & Sullivan, including Poor wand’ring one and the Policeman’s Song from Pirates of Penzance; Never mind the why and wherefore (HMS Pinafore) and Brightly dawns our wedding day (Mikado). There is absolutely something for everyone in this vocal extravaganza.
