Halloween at Powderham Castle
Powderham Castle unveils its Festival of Frights this Halloween.
Spooky School – Sunday 22nd - Friday 27th October
Enter into a world of spookiness in the Old Riding School, where children can enjoy face painting and glitter tattoos, pumpkins crafts and ghostly games. Meet our weird and wonderful characters at the potion making shows at 12pm and 2pm. Collect your ticket on arrival, £3 per child in addition to standard admission charge to take part. Open from 11am to 4pm, whatever the weather. Hot drinks and snacks available.
Aimed at 4- 11year olds but suitable for all ages
Come and see the impressive Birds of Prey in the castle courtyard
Follow the mysterious trail around the castle grounds to win a prize and join a child-friendly ghost tour at 1.30pm and 3.30pm with creepy crawlies to look out for.
Our regular guided tours will be running at 11.15am, 12pm, 12.45pm and 2.30pm all week.
Try our spicy pumpkin soup in the Courtenay Café, made from pumpkins grown from our very own Walled Garden, and other tasty treats.
Join our Deer Park Safari and get a closer look at the fallow deer and views across the Exe estuary. These run daily at 1.45pm and are subject to weather and ground conditions. £2.50 each or £8.50 for a family.

House of Horrors – Monday 30th - Tuesday 31st October
Brave Powderham Castle at night, once the staff have gone home, the shutters are closed, and all the lights are off. When the doors lock behind you, navigate your way through the Castle to escape the horrors and characters within. Just remember, a light will guide you in the darkest of places.
Tickets are limited and must be pre-booked from the Estate Office on 01626 890243, £12 per person. You will be given a time slot between 6.30pm and 9.30pm when you book.
16 and under supervised by an adult, aimed at over 18 year olds.
